Intro/Background
- LIke any other sport, buying gear for golf can be pretty specialized. Getting the right gear can help you play better and enjoy the game more, and not look like a beginner or a cheapo. I'd like this to appeal to people who might only play once or twice a year for work/family obligations as well as people who already play and would like to upgrade what they have.

Ideas for the paper
- How to buy golf gear to suit your skill level, and so you don't look like a doofus on the course
- Start with an overview piece about golf gear, what you need, what the pitfalls are
- Follow up with four more specific pieces: How to Buy Clubs, How to Buy Balls, How to Buy Accessories (golf bag, sunglasses, gloves, other ancillary items), How to Buy Apparel/Shoes.
OR
the four follow-up pieces can be:
1: How to buy clubs (New)
2. How to buy clubs (Used)
3: How to buy accessories (balls, shoes, bag, glove, sunglasses)
4: How to buy a better game (lessons, range memberships, practicing)
I like the latter, as how to buy clubs is the biggest deal. This splits it up into two days, and two differing strategies.
